First session of the Plenary of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Panel on Chemicals, Waste and Pollution

2 - 6 February 2026, Geneva, Switzerland

The first session of the Plenary of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Panel on Chemicals, Waste and Pollution (ISP-CWP P1) was hosted by the Government of Switzerland, from 2 to 6 February 2026 at the Geneva International Conference Centre (CICG). The session was preceded by regional and stakeholder meetings on 1 February 2026, at the same venue. 

Registration for the first session of the Plenary closed on 24 November 2025. States Members of the United Nations and United Nations non-member observer States were invited to register online. 

Representatives of UN entities and accredited organizations that are eligible to participate as observers were also invited to register online. When registering, observers must upload a signed nomination letter and proof of accreditation or observer status. 

Subject to available resources, UNEP will provide travel support for eligible Members and a limited number of observers who register by 20 November 2025 and submit complete funding applications by 24 November 2025. More details can be found in the information note for participants (see sidebar).
