2 October 2025, Cairo, Egypt – UNEP OzonAction Compliance Assistance Programme (CAP) in West Asia and Africa, in collaboration with the League of Arab States (LAS), convened two consecutive meetings in Cairo aimed at supporting regional efforts under the Montreal Protocol and its Kigali Amendment. These included (1) a Coordination Meeting of Ozone Officers (Ozone Arab Team) and (2) a Technical Meeting with the Arab Building Codes Committee.
Amman, Jordan, 28 May 2025 – The UNEP OzonAction Compliance Assistance Programme (CAP), West Asia Office, organized a training workshop for staff of the National Ozone Unit (NOU) and enforcement officers at the Ministry of Environment in Jordan. The workshop was conducted as part of UNEP’s Regional Network services to Article 5 countries in West Asia, and in its role as an Implementing Agency of the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol.
Muscat, Oman, 30 December 2024 – UNEP OzonAction Compliance Assistance Programme (CAP) for West Asia, in collaboration with the National Ozone Unit (NOU) of the Environment Authority of the Sultanate of Oman, organized a Training of Trainers and Technicians on good practices for servicing refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) systems in Oman. The training focused on the safe handling of alternative refrigerants and introduced the assessment method for technician certification, in preparation for the implementation of Oman’s assessment and certification system.
