Molly Burhans - American, North America

2019 Winner | Cartographer and Executive Director | American

GoodLands is working to bring nature conservation to the scale and impact of Catholic healthcare and education, as the largest global network of its kind. They are bringing the most powerful technology for large-scale property planning and sustainability - Geographic Information Systems - to the Catholic Church.

Molly has a Master’s Degree in Ecological Design from the Conway School, where she was a Sustainable Communities Initiative Fellow, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Canisius College. She was Chief Cartographer for the first global data-based maps of the Catholic Church. She is an Ashoka Fellow, and worked in a genetics lab, and as a scientific media developer. I co-founded GroOperative in Buffalo, New York and have participated in the Vatican Youth Symposium, Vatican Arts and Technology Council, and UN Youth Assembly, and been an invited speaker at Harvard, Yale and the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.
