Importing organic products into the EU 

The European Commission provides comprehensive information on organic agriculture, EU policy and international trade in organic products on its Organic Farming website. Information is provided on:

  • The import of organic products into the EU 
  • The EU organic logo and labeling rules 
  • All organic products imported into the EU must be accompanied by a certificate of inspection. This certificate can be issued by a control body recognised by the EU or a control authority of a country recognised by the EU. The CBI - the Dutch Centre for the Promotion of imports from developing countries to the EU also provides information on organic products specifically:

  • Searching for "organic"  on the website, you can find factsheets on various organic products such as exporting organic wine, coffee, or honey to Germany
