Following a very successful UN Environment Assembly, the resolution on the future of GEO was approved by Member States on March 2, 2022. This was after 2 years of work by the Steering Committee on the future of the Global Environment Outlook that completed its work and issued its final report along with the results of broad consultations that were conducted to support this work. The Steering Committee’s work was also complemented by a detailed feasibility study, a background paper and an interim report. The approved GEO resolution was prepared by a small subgroup of the Steering Committee on the Future of GEO. For the English version of the resolution, the direct link is here:
