The UN-convened Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance released the Alliance 2025 Target Setting Protocol for public consultation on 13 October 2020. The Protocol explicitly sets out how individual members will set a target – achievable in the next five years – using the IPCC 1.5°C pathway to inform them, carefully balancing scientific ambition, active ownership engagement, and divestment constraints.
