This is a terminal evaluation of a UNEP GEF project implemented between 2007 and 2010. The objective of the project is to strengthen wastewater management capabilities at the municipal level to be able to identify and formulate feasible and environmentally friendly projects to collect and either treat or re-use municipal wastewater. The evaluation set out to assess project performance, and determine outcomes and impacts stemming from the project, including their sustainability. The evaluation has two primary purposes: to provide evidence of results to meet accountability requirements; and to promote learning, feedback, and knowledge sharing through results and lessons learned among UNEP, UNESCO-IHE, EU and the sub regional partners.
