UN Environment is supporting the University of Chittagong Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences to quantify its baseline air emissions inventory for the Port of Chittagong. The Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences has begun collecting operations data from the Port of Chittagong in order to compute a draft baseline air emissions inventory by end Q1 2017. A stakeholder workshop is scheduled for April 2017 to present the baseline air emissions inventory to key policymakers for comment and aid in the development of strategies for reducing particulate matter and black carbon emissions from port operations, incorporating international best practices.
