Actions for nature and inclusion in Haiti

Haití

Haiti is home to a great biodiversity, with endemic species of mammals, amphibians and plants. However, this biological wealth is under threat.

Since 1968, Haiti has worked to create 26 terrestrial and marine protected areas. In addition, along with Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, it is part of the Caribbean Biological Corridor.

Restoring forests, mangroves and beaches with the support of local communities and promoting sustainable economic activities are priority tasks to restore nature and, in doing so, leave poverty behind.
