As climate change impacts grow, National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) are vital for helping countries identify and address their unique vulnerabilities and climate risks. Based on the latest science, NAPs provide action-oriented strategies and serve as investment plans to reduce climate threats.
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) supports countries with science, analysis, and knowledge-sharing — including the new online course Building Climate Resilience through Ecosystem-based Adaptation Planning. NAPs also help countries update and strengthen the adaptation components of their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement.
