The Atlas of Environmental Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been developed on the basis of global, regional, and national datasets covering a period of six decades, using both historical information and the latest satellite technologies. It presents detailed information on the environment with a focus on terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, progress in implementing the three Rio Conventions, and achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 6 and 15. The information contained in the Atlas can assist the Republic of Uzbekistan in monitoring environmental conditions and reporting under multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs), as well as in preparing a national state-of-the-environment report. In addition, the Atlas provides a robust evidence base for policymakers and decision-makers, supporting sustainable environmental management.
