To take stock of South Sudan’s existing capacities and specific capacity needs and priorities, as it moves to implement multilateral environmental Conventions to which it is a signatory.

To review and update the National Implementation Plan (NIP) in order to comply with reporting obligations (Article 15) and updating of National Implementation Plans (Artcile 7) under the Stockholm Convention.

Nine countries prepare and submit intended nationally determined contributions (INDCs) to the 2015 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Agreement and have institutional arrangements in place that support the INDC process

To develop the South Sudan National Adaptation Plan of Action (NAPA), following a participatory process to address the most immediate and urgent climate related risks.

To integrate South Sudan’s obligations under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) into its national development and sectoral planning frameworks through a participative ‘biodiversity planning’ and strategizing process, in a manner that is in line with the global guidance contained in the CBD’s Strategic Plan for 2011-2020.

To achieve efficiency and sustainability in the use of deep-sea living resources and improving biodiversity conservation in the ABNJ, through the systematic application of an ecosystem approach.

To support Seychelles meets its obligations under the UNCCD through a) review and alignment of NAP with 10 – Year Strategy and b) Reporting and Review process.

To assist South Sudan in the preparation of its Initial National Communication (INC) for the
implementation of the obligations under the UNFCCC.

Strengthen the building sector to address energy efficiency issues and promote expansion of investment in energy efficiency technologies/design in the housing, public and tourism building sub-sectors.

Ratification and early implementation of the Minamata Convention is facilitated by the use of scientific and technical knowledge and tools by national stakeholders in participating countries

Enhanced financing and management of protected areas through innovations in renewable energy capacity and arrangements

To create the enabling environment to effectively address poaching and illegal wildlife trade IWT through new and enhanced laws regulations, and policies.

To strengthen the capacity for implementation of the updated POPs Global Monitoring Plan (GMP) and to create the conditions for sustainable monitoring of POPs in the Asian Region

To strengthen the capacity for implementation of the updated POPs Global Monitoring Plan (GMP) and to create the conditions for sustainable monitoring of POPs in the African Region

To strengthen the capacity for implementation of the updated POPs Global Monitoring Plan (GMP) and to create the conditions for sustainable monitoring of POPs in the Pacific Islands Region.

Enhanced Conservation and Management of Carbon Stocks and Biodiversity in Forest and non-Forest Lands in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone (ChEZ), in Ukraine.

To strengthen national capacities and assist Panama in the alignment of its National Action Plan to Combat Desertification (NAP) with UNCCD 10-Year Strategy and in complying with UNCCD reporting and review process

To prepare and submit Benin’s first biennial update report (BUR) to UNFCCC and in doing so enhance Benin’s capacity to meet its reporting obligations under the UNFCCC on continuous basis.

To reduce vulnerability of the coastal zone to climate variability and change through institutional capacity building, concrete coastal adaptation interventions and integration of climate change into policy and planning

To prepare the Second National Communication and first Biennial Update Report of the State of Kuwait and enable the country fulfill its obligations under the UNFCCC, in accordance with Articles 4.1 and 12.1 of the Convention while strengthening its capacity to integrate climate change concerns into national and sectoral development plans and priorities
